BEATS. MIND. MOVEMENT (BMM) is a FREE music programming initiative dedicated to providing youth between the ages of 16-24 with the knowledge, skills, and mentorship needed to succeed in today’s evolving music industry.

Age of Eligibility: 16 – 24 years old



In each 5-month cycle, 15 artists will be selected to take part in the full program to gain skills and develop a stronger understanding of key elements within the world of recording arts. Participants will have the opportunity to identify a musical project that they will work towards throughout the duration of the program. BMM Program Facilitators, along with Program Mentors, will act as personal coaches for each participant. Independent Learning Plans (ILPs) will include key goals and unique learning opportunities to ensure each participant’s ILP reflects the needs and aspirations in respect to their skills and abilities. Participants will be introduced to, taught and trained on industry-standard equipment and software. Participants will also be plugged into a larger music community of arts & cultural networks through industry events, field trips, and educational opportunities through BMM partnerships across the City of Toronto. Participants are required to attend 9 mandatory workshops over the course of the term in order to graduate from the Beats. Mind. Movement. program.
