Urban Garden Project

The Urban Garden Project encourages and addresses food security, providing residents and opportunity to learn how to grow their own food through a series of workshops and activities throughout the spring and summer season. The garden also combat two forms of alienation that plague modern urban life, by bringing urban gardeners closer in touch with the source of their food, and by breaking down isolation by creating a social community.

Last year, our community garden grew kale, peppers, mint, tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants. All the produce grown in the garden was then used as ingredients for our culinary arts program. During harvest, many of the crops are given to residents in the neighbourhood. Stay tuned for more information in Spring 2018!
